Wesley Hall

Wes grew up in Memphis, Tennessee, where family, music, tradition, and storytelling were central to everyday life. Those early influences shaped his deep appreciation for personal history and the importance of preserving meaningful memories.

By day, Wes works in digital analytics, designing data frameworks for some of the largest websites on the internet. Each year, he also serves as a guest lecturer at Howard University, Lehman College, and Georgia Tech. When he is not working with data, Wes is usually in his quilt studio.

Quilts by Big Wes

Quilting is where Wes brings together creativity, storytelling, and craftsmanship. Through Quilts by Big Wes, he creates custom memory quilts from T-shirts and other meaningful clothing items. Some quilts celebrate milestones like graduations, concerts, sports, and travel. Others honor loved ones who are deeply missed. In every case, the goal is to transform items that hold emotional value into something lasting and tangible.

Wes also teaches quilting classes, which allows him to connect with people who want to learn, create, and tell their own stories through fabric.

Many interests, one common thread

Although Wes’s interests span many disciplines, they are connected by a shared mindset. In analytics, his focus is on structure, reliability, and clarity. In quilting, that same mindset manifests in thoughtful design, precise construction, and attention to detail.

Whether working with data or fabric, Wes approaches each project with care and intention.

SewTracker

That same mindset led Wes to build SewTracker, a web-based order management tool designed specifically for quilters who take custom orders. After years of tracking his own orders in spreadsheets and notebooks, he created the tool he wished had existed: a single dashboard for managing orders, sending invoices, sharing progress photos with customers, and running the business side of quilting.

SewTracker is available to quilters everywhere. Learn more or start a free trial.

A note on the work

The materials used in a memory quilt are never just fabric. They represent experiences, relationships, and stories. Wes’s role is to treat those materials with respect and transform them into something that can be held, shared, and passed down.
