This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit the site or interact with us, how we use it, who we share it with, your choices, and your rights regarding that information.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

We collect information you actively share with us, including:

• Contact form submissions: name, email address, phone number (optional), service interest, and any project details you include in your message.
• Quilt Advisor quiz: name, email address, optional phone number, and your answers about the quilt project you have in mind.
• AI Quilt Advisor chat: messages you type into the floating chat widget. Conversations are processed by Anthropic's Claude AI to generate responses. See "Third-Party Service Providers" below.
• Direct correspondence: any information you provide by email, text, phone, or in person during a consultation.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit bigwes.com, we and our service providers automatically collect:

• Device and connection data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, and screen size.
• Usage data: pages viewed, time spent on pages, links clicked, referring website, and approximate geographic location derived from IP.
• Advertising click identifiers: if you reach the site from a Google Ads or Meta ad, identifiers in the URL (gclid, gbraid, wbraid for Google; fbclid for Meta) are stored so we can measure the effectiveness of those campaigns.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Respond to inquiries, consultations, and project requests
• Communicate with you about your order, scheduled call, or estimate
• Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the website

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent or share your information with third parties for their independent marketing purposes. We share information only in these circumstances:

• With service providers that process data on our behalf to operate the site, deliver email, run analytics, measure advertising effectiveness, and provide our AI Quilt Advisor. See the full list below.
• For advertising measurement: we send hashed identifiers (email and phone, when you provide them) to Google Ads and Meta so they can report which of their ad clicks resulted in a lead. Hashing is performed before transmission so the raw values are not exposed.
• When required by law, including in response to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal process.
• In connection with a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Third-Party Service Providers

The following third-party services may receive or process your information in connection with your use of bigwes.com. Each operates under its own privacy policy, linked below.

• Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager for website analytics and tag orchestration. Google Privacy Policy.

• Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API (Facebook, Instagram) for advertising performance measurement. The Pixel is loaded in your browser and the Conversions API mirrors key events server-side. Hashed identifiers are used for matching. Meta Privacy Policy.

• Cloudflare for content delivery, performance, and security. Cloudflare processes IP addresses and request metadata. Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
• Calendly when you book a call through our scheduling link. Calendly collects the information needed to book and remind you of the appointment. Calendly Privacy Policy.
• Postmark for sending transactional email (consultation confirmations, follow-ups). Postmark processes the email address and message body to deliver the message. Postmark Privacy Notice.
• Anthropic processes messages you send to the AI Quilt Advisor chat widget so its Claude model can generate a response. Conversation content is transmitted to Anthropic's API. Anthropic Privacy Policy.
• DreamHost hosts the bigwes.com web infrastructure. DreamHost Privacy Policy.

Your Choices and Rights

Cookie and Tracking Controls

A cookie preferences banner appears on your first visit. You can change your choice at any time by clicking "Cookie Preferences" in the site footer. When you deny analytics and advertising consent, we suppress server-side and browser-side advertising events for that browser. See our Cookie Policy for details on each cookie used.

Opt Out of Advertising Measurement

You can opt out of Google's advertising personalization at Google Ad Settings and Meta's at Meta Ad Preferences. You can also install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to block Google Analytics data collection sitewide.

State-Level Rights (California, Colorado, Virginia, Connecticut, and others)

Residents of US states with comprehensive privacy laws have specific rights, which generally include:

• Right to know what categories of personal information we collect, the sources, the purposes for collection, and the categories of third parties we share information with.
• Right to access a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
• Right to delete personal information we hold about you, subject to legal exceptions.
• Right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (we do not sell or share for cross-context behavioral advertising beyond what you have consented to via the cookie banner).
• Right against discrimination for exercising any of these rights.

We will verify your identity by matching the information you provide against records we already have on file, and we will respond within forty-five days (extendable by another forty-five days where permitted by law). You may also designate an authorized agent to act on your behalf with valid written authorization.

Data Retention

We retain contact information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill your request, maintain business records, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Specifically:

• Contact and quiz submissions: up to seven years (tax and business records)
• Analytics and advertising cookie data: as set out in the Cookie Policy
• AI Quilt Advisor chat transcripts: up to ninety days for quality review

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we collect, including HTTPS encryption in transit, hashed transmission of identifiers to advertising platforms, and access controls on internal systems. No method of transmission or storage is one hundred percent secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

bigwes.com is not directed to children under the age of thirteen, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.

International Visitors

bigwes.com is operated from the United States. If you access the site from outside the US, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and in any country where our service providers operate. By using the site, you consent to this transfer.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the services we use, or applicable law. The date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last revised. Continued use of the site after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
