Here are some tips for making T-shirt quilt or having one made.

A memory quilt is crafted from pieces of fabric that hold sentimental value, often from clothing or other items with personal significance. Fabrics from baby clothes,T-shirts from memorable events, or garments from loved ones each contribute to the quilt’s unique story.

This High School Memory Quilt, featuring 38T-shirts from three siblings, encapsulates the essence of high school’s role in shaping identity. It highlights personal growth, social bonds, and acquiring life skills such as resilience and teamwork through academic successes and extracurricular activities.

A mom asked me to create three quilts for her kids using clothes, towels, and blankets from their childhood. Preserving memories is one of the things about my quilt shop, and making three quilts at once was a huge labor of love.

I was asked to make a Prince Tribute Quilt from a stack ofT-shirts that a die-hard fan had collected over the years. I took the shirts she sent me and also used some printable fabric to add Prince’s album covers.

I love makingT-shirt quilts because they have special meaning for the recipient. I made this Delta Sigma ThetT-shirt Quilt for my daughter’s friend, and as I remarked on my Instagram post, hearing her say OMG! was the best part of making it.
